ROTTEN APPLES
If you’re into graphic novels, battle of the bands and in love with Michael Cera, this is the movie for you. This movie is an experience that I can assure you will weird you out, cringe at how awkward some of these characters are, leave with some amazing quotable one liners and just marvel at some pretty fantastic fight scenes.
“You once were a ve-gone, but now you will be gone” – Scott Pilgrim
Fun fact: The film was based on a graphic novel and was filmed in Toronto. If you are familiar with Toronto you may recognize some of these iconic and nostalgic locations (rest in peace Honest Ed’s).
If you want an action-packed movie with beautiful cinematography you should watch this movie. If someone described this movie to me I would not be in the slightest bit interested. It has cars, it’s set in the desert and it has cars. However, this is not your average Fast and the Furious movie, it’s everything better and more. All I need to say is this movie contains an electric guitar with a flamethrower, need I say more?
“If I'm going to die, I'm going to die historic, on the fury road!” - Nux
Fun fact: This movie was set to start filming in 2001, however, due to multiple issues the movie was delayed for 14 years. Thankfully after much anticipation it was released with enormous positive feedback.
If you want a movie that almost no one has heard of to brag to your friends about how indie you are, this is it. Not only does it have multiple notable actors, it is a simple yet beautiful portrayal of adolescence. It is a movie with beautifully delivered jokes and a plot that seems so relatable and realistic you can’t help but feel for these characters.
Fun fact: If you want to see Steve Carrell (Michael from the Office) play a serious role, he plays a horrible step father in this movie.
If you are a lover of animals and especially of dogs you will want to see the most heartwarming movie. This stop-motion movie immediately brings you into this very unique and enchanting world where you will fall in love with the animated characters. There is no specific genre that this movie can fit into, it has it all: comedy, romance, action and drama. The attention to detail is absurd and it will captivate you throughout the entire movie.
Fun fact: there is hardly any English spoken in the movie, except from the dog’s point of view. However, this will not stop you from getting emotionally attached to these characters.
If you are looking for a fun movie for both kids and adults with outrageously catchy songs, here it is. Not only does this movie have a message that is important for children and even adults to understand, it has songs that you will immediately want to download onto your Spotify playlist.

Fun fact: This movie will make you feel like a kid again and make you go outside and appreciate the world we have.
If you are into murder mysteries and crazy plot twists, watch this movie. This is a thriller from start to end, keeping you on the edge of your seat. Every time you watch and rewatch this movie, there are new details that add to the plot and your experience. There is lots of family drama, which may distract you from your own for a while.
